Localized Ridge Augmentation: Concepts for Predictable Bone Grafting and Optimal Implant Placement (Lectures, Surgical Videos & Workshop).

Are you tired of implants that are placed too far facial, palatal or deep because of inadequate bone? Learn optimal implant site preparation from ridge preservation to advanced ridge augmentation for optimal implant placement.

This is a one-day intensive course that includes lectures, videos of live surgical cases and a hands-on workshop specifically designed to utilize bone-grafting principles and techniques. These techniques are designed to help establish a healthy foundation for proper dental implant placement.

The course will discuss ridge alterations postextraction and provide a rationale for interceptive ridge preservation to minimize alveolar bone loss. Clinical case scenarios will be used to explain rationale for specific surgical approaches to correct horizontal, vertical and combination alveolar ridge defects for the partially edentulous patient. Clinical records, radiographs, photographs, and surgical videos will be used to describe step by step surgical techniques. The criteria for the selection of materials and technologies, and alternatives, will be discussed as they are relevant to each case.

During the hands-on workshop, the participants will learn techniques to preserve the original bone volume during tooth extractions, immediate implant placement with simultaneous guided bone regeneration for predictable outcomes.

Learning Objectives: At the completion of the course participants will be able to:

• Understand the consequences of tooth loss and rationale for socket/ridge preservation.

• Recognize applications for different materials used in ridge preservation and augmentation.

• Learn when to perform extraction and ridge preservation versus immediate implant placement.

• Understand principles of and indications for using augmentation procedures with simultaneous implant placement.

• Learn soft and hard tissue augmentation techniques. Hands-on Surgical Workshop Learning Objectives: • Perform surgical incisions and flap reflection on pig jaw mandibles.

• Perform atraumatic extraction and ridge preservation

• Perform immediate implant placement with bone grafting and membrane placement.

• Practice suturing techniques for bone augmentation

Course is free for grads from 2020-2024

Course fee for AGD members who graduated before 2019 will be $295

Course fee for Non AGD members is $495
